About The Course

This course will help participants to work safely with risk of harm.

We will cover the methods used for assessing the risk of harm , and we will look at commonly used risk assessment systems, such as OASys.

We will examine the key elements of risk assessment and management, such as static, dynamic and acute risk factors, protective factors and desistance.

Drawing from Ministry of Justice models and guidance, we will use case studies to illustrate the dilemmas involved in risk assessment and management, and we will show through practical exercises how to apply best practices principles to real life scenarios involving the risk of serious harm.
