This course covers the theory and practice of structured group programme facilitation.
We will look at the development of the structured group programme as an effective intervention method and discuss the key principles of this approach.
We will explore a style of facilitation based on models such as Motivational Interviewing, Pro-Social Modeling and Cognitive-Behavioural Approaches.
However, the accent of this course is very much on practical skills learning, and we will help participants to develop their confidence and competence through role play exercises. These are designed to help participants learn how to work with a diversity of group experiences, to encourage participation and respond sensitively and effectively to group members experiencing difficulties.
Trainers will offer coaching and feedback throughout the course.
